The Country Girls Trilogy by Edna O'Brien is this years Dublin One City One Book 2019. The first book in the series, The Country Girls, published in 1960, was well ahead of it's time and predicted the feminist revolution. The book was quickly followed by Girl with Green Eyes, published in 1962, and Girls in Their Married Bliss, published in 1964. The books track Cait and Baba, girls from County Clare, through their childhood to life in Dublin and London. If you want to experience life in 1950's and 1960's on the cusp of the feminist revolution, then these are the books for you. A great read, enjoy.
